• 1. Download and unzip the WordPress package if you haven't already.
• 2. Create a database for WordPress on your web server, as well as a MySQL (or MariaDB) user who has all privileges for accessing and modifying it.
• 3. (Optional) Find and rename wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php, then edit the file (see Editing wp-config.php) and add your database information.
• 4. Upload the WordPress files to the desired location on your web server:
  • If you want to integrate WordPress into the root of your domain (e.g. http://example.com/), move or upload all contents of the unzipped WordPress directory (excluding the WordPress directory itself) into the root directory of your web server.
  • If you want to have your WordPress installation in its own subdirectory on your website (e.g. http://example.com/blog/), create the blog directory on your server and upload the contents of the unzipped WordPress package to the directory via FTP.

  Note: If your FTP client has an option to convert file names to lower case, make sure it's disabled.

• 5. Run the WordPress installation script by accessing the URL in a web browser. This should be the URL where you uploaded the WordPress files.
  • If you installed WordPress in the root directory, you should visit: http://example.com/
  • If you installed WordPress in its own subdirectory called blog, for example, you should visit: http://example.com/blog/

That's it! WordPress should now be installed.

The first option on how to install this Theme would be to directly upload the travelogue.zip file via WordPress Theme Uploader.

• Log into your WordPress dashboard
• Navigate to Appearance > Themes
• Click Install Themes
• Click Upload
• Now you just need to find the "travelogue.zip" file in the travelogue_package/theme folder and hit Install now.

The second option on how to install our Theme would be the upload via FTP manager. It really doesn't matter which of the two ways you choose, just choose the one you feel more comfortable with.

• 1. Login to your FTP account and navigate to your WordPress Installation directory
• 2. Navigate to the folder /wp-content/themes/
• 3. Upload the "travelogue" folder (not the .zip-file). This is the folder located inside the travelogue_package/theme/travelogue.zip folder in the zip-file you've downloaded from Themeforest.
• 4. Now log into your WordPress backend
• 5. Navigate to Appearance > Themes
• 6. Find the Theme and click Activate

So at this stage you have probably noticed a warning, asking you to install recommended plugins. This is needed to get the Theme Panel plugin and few other plugins for the theme to work perfectly. Installing that is very simple, you just need to click Begin installing plugins and you will be redirected to the plugin installation page where you can install any Plugin you want and need.

Go to your WordPress Admin Panel -> Travelogue Theme Panel -> Demo Importer

This Theme includes Revolution Slider plugin. To import Revolution Slider demo slider go to Revolution Slider dashboard menu item. Demo slider can be found in our downloaded package in /sampledata/revslider-demo/kenburnsslider.zip.

If you want to change the general Options of the Theme, go to your WordPress Admin Dashboard Area to Travelogue Panel. Here you have a tabbed Navigation where you can change a lot of Options of your new Theme:

Travelogue comes with six built it Header Effects

• Intro Effect Grid - Default effect for homepage - See Demo of this effect
• Intro Effect Sidefixed - Default effect for categories/archive/search/tags pages - See Demo of this effect
• Intro Effect Push - Default effect for article posts - See Demo of this effect
• Intro Effect Side - Default effect for about page - See Demo of this effect

NOTE: To add one these header effects to a page follow these steps:

• 1. Click on Pages->Add New Page
• 2. Add title, content, featured image, etc... to the page, then scroll down to the custom mets boxes (custom page fields).

Travelogue comes with two types of header backgrounds (Image Background and Video Background)

To add a image background to a page the image must be added as a featured image of the page/post.

NOTE: If the YouTube Video ID field is completed, the image background will be replaced with Video Background.

Set Up Gallery Items

To add new items into the gallery go to your WordPress Admin Area and navigate to Gallery > Add Gallery item.

This theme default with 6 sidebar area include:

Travelogue widgets can be added at this moment with the right sidebar of the site. This is the main widgetized area.

Your new Theme comes with 2 custom widgets which can be found in your WordPress Admin Area under Appearance > Widgets.
